Meet Our Leadership Team

Burkhard Jansen, M.D., is the President of DermTech, LLC, where he leads the company’s efforts on strategy and stakeholder outreach to serve the dermatology community and its patients through non-invasive genomic testing for skin cancer. Dr. Jansen has contributed as founder, director, and senior executive of a number of dermatology and oncology focused life sciences companies, in the US, Canada, and Europe. He is a skin cancer expert with a background as a tenured professor of both dermatology and clinical pharmacology with FDA experience. His scientific work is published in leading peer reviewed journals including Nature, Nature Medicine, Lancet, and PNAS. Dr. Jansen received his medical doctorate and dermatology training from the Universities of Graz and Vienna in Austria, his postdoctoral science training at the University of Minnesota, and his executive business education at UCLA.

Jeremy Teraoka, is the Head of Finance at DermTech, LLC. Mr. Teraoka is a seasoned finance and operations executive with extensive investment banking and biotech experience across North America, Asia and Europe. Trained in the UK with KPMG, Mr. Teraoka has held CFO, Finance Director, and Controller positions, working in both multinational corporations and fast-growing startups. As a co-founder and executive leader, he scaled the stockbroking firm Asia Equity, leading to its acquisition by Banque Paribas. Mr. Teraoka has a bachelor’s degree in economics and philosophy from University College London (UCL).
